You Know You Knit Too Much When...

I was driving home this morning from dropping off my girls for their second day of school. I was feeling happy because so far everything is going well and they seem excited about their teachers and classmates and the baby was sleeping in the back of the van so all was well in my little world. I was coming down the road and saw the usual random object in the middle of the road and as I drove by I saw that it was a brown wig. I thought, "That's weird. I hope it was not one that had actually been in use at the time!" But then, my true inner knitting kook surfaced and I thought, "Wait, WAS that a wig? it might have been a skein of brown yarn! Was it??" and for really longer than I should have, I actually considered turning around to drive back by it TO SEE IF IT WAS YARN. What is wrong with me, people!? As if, even if it were in fact yarn in the middle of the road, I would want to use it? I mean, I thought it was a WIG for heaven's sake and as previously noted, IT WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. Really now, I am not desperate for yarn or anything-I have many baskets full around the house and a long list of projects waiting in the wings (one of which is MS3 without the wing, btw-I have decided the wing is not for me). But for a moment I really thought "Oooh! it could be YARN!" like God had just decided to drop me a skein on the way home. In the middle of the road. I need some more sleep-and maybe a little less knitting.

Or maybe I need to go check something out in the road, um I mean, outside-I'll be back in a minute.....

Oh Jody what a funny read! I think you should go back and see if it was in fact a wig or yarn!

THANK YOU for your comment! And more importantly thank you for your prayers for my family. I haven't been around blogger for a while. Glad to say my WHOLE FAMILY had a wonderful 4th of July as my husband arrived home that day for 15 days of R&R. It went by much to quickly and the girls and I had to settle back into a routine so as to get them prepared to start school just a couple weeks after he left. We are now on the countdown for his homecoming and can't wait.

I would also ask that you please keep our Hawaii Army family in your prayers as the news has just been release of out 10 soldiers lost in the blackhawk crash this week in Iraq. It is a sad and somber time for us here "at home" as well as our soldiers who must continue on with their missions still on-going in Iraq.

God Bless.

I always wonder about shoes I see along the road. You know, the single ones that are just sitting there without a mate. I think I would have wondered about the wig/yarn, too, but probably wouldn't have gone back, either!

I'm with the shoes parallel...and what if it was a wig? I would feel sad that it lost its head. Like a shoe that's all alone. Now both shoes are homeless. Sad.

Anyway, it could have been an optical illusion, not a skein of yarn or a wig or some bizarre fuzzy shoe. Perhaps it was all a figment of your imagination.

Either way, I think it all makes us consider that we ALL desperately need MORE YARN!

And I wonder about things like, oh, say, chairs. And yeah-- those single shoes. And--- oh never mind.
