Here at Chez Things we have a lot of little girls, soon to be one more, that we are trying to raise with a balance of a good sense of humor and the ability to act like well-mannered young ladies. Tonight during supper, as I was taking a drink, my 9 year old, Thing 1, leaned to the side and let fly a big loud tooooooooooot, something very much frowned upon at the dinner table. Appalled, I sputtered out "Thing 1, what do you say!" and she, without missing a beat, said with a smile "ta-da!"
(Incidently, it is very hard to impress upon one's children the importance of good manners when one is laughing so hard with their spouse that no sound at all is coming out....)

Tonight we were out at a nice restaurant to celebrate my sister's birthday when my Thing 1 let's out a huge belch. "Christian!" I say. "Compliments to the chef!" is his reply :)
Your proper girls would get along just fine with my proper girls.
